5 Beauty Products I Can’t Go A Day ( or two ) Without.

Now I know there are more skincare and beauty gurus out there than Starbucks Venti Double Shot Soy Latte's these days.

However 90% ish of them are getting paid to post about brands, why they are the best thing since sliced bread and why you need them in your life NOW. Alongside with their name in a discount code.

So this is when my new fortnightly segment Quite Frankly Fridays comes to play.

Every two weeks I’ll be posting nothing but the truth reviews covering skincare and all things beauty.

Speaking for myself, I love nothing more than reading bulk reviews on a product that catches my eye, I go from website to website ensuring it isn’t biased and found myself thinking; why don’t I do this? Now I am a firm believer of knowing EVERYONE'S skin is different, so in no way shape or form am I telling you guys that these products will do what they do for me. It’s more of an educational segment for others to gain an understanding of what various ingredients can do and why I use them personally.

Today I am keeping it simple, with the 5 products I swear by day in day out.

No sponsorship here, no #ad or gifts. Just real raw reviews!

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream

Now this is quite frankly the shit. I cannot go an hour without applying this on my lips. It is a super thick consistency and is more so a balm not a cream. False advertising I know. It is the most hydrating product I have ever come across, so far. You see,the various uses is what keeps me going back each time, the most common is for the lips however the glossy look of the product means it can be used on eyelids, cheekbones and even to brush brows up! I have even applied all over my face at night after a peel or any time I am on a plane because recycled air is gross and drying AF. Also a bottle lasts around 18 months for day in day out use!

Rms Living Luminizer

Another Holy Grail product. It may be on the pricey side however our relationship is going 8 months strong and there is no sights of parting ways anytime soon. Simply apply to the cheekbones, middle of the bottom lip, brow bones, cupids bow, center of the eye and tip of the nose for a lit from within glow. Trust me! One of the main ingredients is coconut oil. If you know you know!

The past year I have been living for the glow. This is the no makeup makeup must have. No glittery highlights or sparkles, just a casual dewy finish that makes you look refreshed and golden.

This product does exactly that! RMS products are all natural and organic so there is no need to fret about the chance they will break you out. I adore pairing this product with no mascara and a touch of cream blush.

Drunk elephant LALA whipped cream and D Bronzi Sunshine Drops

If you love a non-greasy moisturizer look no further. The LALA is made from 6 African oils and loaded with omega acids ensuring your skin locks in moisture all dam day. It soaks into the skin easily and doesn’t sit on top like most moisturizers tend to do. As part of the DE philosophy all their products are clear of the ‘suspicious six ‘ingredients such as dying alcohols and essential oils; so you know that they are being kind to your skin as we all should! The packaging is also a lifesaver as mixing Drunk Elephant products is apart of their vision as a brand, so whenever you choose to you can simply push down on the lid and you have a mixing plate there ready for you!

Now the D Bronzi drops are a recent discovery that I came across last year over in Euro land, they are an anti-pollution formula made to protect AND bronze your skin. Brilliance right?! I simply add half a drop to my LALA cream morning and if on occasion nighttime, and the two together locks in moisture, loads it with antioxidants and protects my skin from harmful fumes. It’s called sunshine in a bottle as it delivers a dose of ‘just stepped of the plane from bora bora vibes’ as well as protecting your skin from any nasties the air has to offer!

Kosas Lipstick In Rosewater I have ventured high and low through so many brands to find the perfect pink lippy, a shade that is a step above my natural lip colour. A nightmare I know. Finally I found my true match, the shade Rosewater by Kosas. The brand is structured on embracing femininity in a minimalist manner which is me to a T! The formula is a dreamy creamy texture that glides on the lips; doesn’t dry out, stays put for hours and lip liner is never needed! Made with all natural ingredients such as three types of butter ( shea, coco and mango ) it seriously is the lipstick I have been searching for. Kosas also has their lipsticks categorized into two tone ranges, being cool or warm; ensuring your shade blends into your skin tone at ease.

Pixi Glow Tonic

I must say, this product was all I saw in every single beauty guru’s shelfies (beauty shelf selfies) the past year and I am converted. Pixi has a wide range of budget friendly products that do exactly what they say they will do! It is simply an exfoliating toner packed with skin friendly acids and Ginseng which firm and brighten the skin as well as encourages cell turnover which is ideal for nighttime use as you wake up with super soft facial skin. After cleansing morning and night I pop on a few drops onto a cotton pad and rub in small circular motions steering clear of the eyes. I must say the first few applications for my sensitive skin did leave me a lil red faced and stingy, but anything strong does that to me. It is a makeup bag staple as when I get the hormonal breakouts I’m blessed with, it speeds up the process of making them banish without the drying element of most lotions and treatments.

Well that was fun! I hope I made the stressful occasion of purchasing new products a tad easier! Next time I will be writing more about skincare categories such as face-masks, cleansers and serums. That way I can really get to the nitty gritty stuff without babbling on for hours.

Till next time honeys

Mais xx
