So if you are reading this you either know me and you are thinking why is Maisie writing about dates she is not a love guru, or you do not know me and possibly think I am the world's best dater dresser? Whatever way you decide to think I am actually none of the above and just love babbling on about topics I think will help others,* insert internet hug * .

#1 – First Date

Ahh, even writing these words leaves my hands clammy.

Let’s say the location is the newest local dive bar with that flattering dark lighting where you have trouble reading the menu so you just say to the bar tender 'surprise me'.

Anyway moving onto the garments.

Trainers will trick your opponent (yes your date) into thinking that you are cool/easy breezy. But the overall goal is to wear something that makes you feel like a great version of yourself and that will shine through, trust me.

I opted for my power suit tartan dream with my good old Reebok trainers. Awkward hands are not encouraged as shown by me.

#2 – The Group Date

Sending air high fives your way! You have made a good enough impression for you to meet the friends of the fellow man/gal of your current dreams.

Well obviously I knew that you were capable and had the upmost belief in you!

Anyway, this date is the situation where you may take 40 minutes to make your hair look like its bed hair. Effortless right?

Still show off your flair however you please, think it is all in the details. The earrings could be your flair, or a statement bag that isn’t the size of Sydney studio apartment or even the simple act of a pair of coloured socks with your footwear choice.

I chose to rock my favourite floral springtime gown and very worn in Jeffrey Campbell boots.

#3 – The Active Date

I am not sure what a active date may be, but here are some ideas that could go under the category?

- A picnic

- A art gallery binge

- Mini golf

- All you can eat buffet?

All I can say is there is no rules here, besides not wearing all white to a buffet. Been there done that and used an entire bottle of overpriced sparkling water to remove stains.

Anyway, go wild with animal prints, a sexy slip dress with an overworn tee or your favourite trench that you can wear a few times a year.

For me I wore my feel good wide leg jeans, my Topshop trench and matched my bag with my shoes to make me feel like I had my life together :-)

Regardless of your attire and the outcome of the dates, you can give yourself a pat on the back and take YOURSELF out for a drink.

Bye for now!

Mais
