Muse Mondays - Maddison Peters

I sat down with Maddison Peters, a MAC makeup artist, creative genius and a dear friend, who spilled her secrets regarding all things beauty.

What does makeup mean to you?

MP: Makeup shows what mood I'm in and how I'm feeling without even saying anything and I think that's pretty powerful! I love how it brings out confidence in yourself and I love seeing it come out in others once I finish their face! Top 5 beauty products that you are loving right now? 1. Fenty beauty lipgloss 2. Which Australian creatives are you loving at the moment? I'm inspired by so many people on social media and people who have a larger platform don't really inspire me as much! I think humble, hardworking and passionate people always leave a mark on me and as each day goes I get to meet a lot of people that I'm very thankful for.

What is a typical day at work for you? Arriving early with a coffee in my hand with a clean kit and brush belt ready to inspire and create with whoever is sitting in front of me in the chair for that day!

Tell us, what would your dream creative project consist of? Anything fashion, fashion week, fashion shoots, literally anything on trend. Do you have any make up secrets that you swear by? Always use a hydrated moisturiser and a drop of serum before applying makeup and using the MAC false lash maximiser in brows and lashes before using mascara or brow product. Oh and nearly forgot! Using blush as an eyeshadow!!

Why was becoming a makeup artist so important to you? I love making people feel good about themselves and being creative and using new tips and tricks and honestly, having so much fun while doing so! Any highlights from the recent fashion weeks, make up looks wise? I'm loving all the dewy skin looks and full brows, I'm living for these looks and the real blush, pushed into the skin looks, ugh I die! What is next on your agenda, with work and life? I want to start practicing something new! And I also want to keep working towards fashion week and step out of my comfort zone by doing so. Quickfire: Monochrome or colour dressing?
