I started wearing trainers and now I can’t stop

Once upon a time I shuddered at the thought of pairing trainers with a non-active outfit, all I could imagine was early 2000’s pink tutus and converse whenever I would consider adding the foreign garment to my outfit. But something changed, when I was in London working a month or so ago; it was a 30 plus day in the city and I was on the tube people watching as always. I hopped off the central line and had a stranger tap me on the shoulder informing me my strap on my pretty summertime shoes had fallen off ( brilliant start to the day might I add ) . Then it happened, a 20 something girl basically skipped up the stairs and escalators wearing a fabulous outfit and TRAINERS. I don’t know if it was the fumes from the hot sticky underground, or the fact I had a broken shoe in peak hour people traffic, I proceeded to the Reebok store and didn’t even think twice.
Since that day I have worn my trainers nearly every single day, the comfort is beautiful and suited for any dam occasion. I have even expanded my collection of trainers to 3 pairs, and I never thought I would be favoring them over a pair of Chloe boots but here I am.
So now speaking as a reformed woman, that hasn’t looked back; I will share a few tips on how to wear trainers if you aren’t a trainer supporter outside of the gym.
#1 - Don't rush into it
Think of the trainers as a new pet, slowly introduce them to the rest of the shoe family and ensure they all get along, then make the next step and get them to say ello' to the rest of your wardrobe.
#2 - Pair them with your faves
Familiarity is going to be your best friend when it comes to trying new things in the fashion world, to ensure it is not as daunting simply throw on your favourite statement earrings or those velvet pants that make you feel a million bucks. It will make the fear of the unknown completely dissolve.
#3 - Most of all Have fun and be comfy.
